Panizo takes me back to the late summer afternoons of my childhood. My family, farmers by heritage, has always lived in the outskirts of Murcia, and I remember corn cobs drying in the sun in my neighbors' yards. The elders husking them, sitting on the porch with their shirts open. The dry air of the earth, the smell of the end of the summer and the beginning of autumn. A traditional image of our city that, for me, represents the most pleasant calm and the deepest love for the roots from which we come.
Panizo is an autobiographical story that narrates the culture of my homeland in southern Spain through its most typical products.
